Bistrita

Bistrita is located in Northern Transylvania, being first mentioned in documents in 1264. It was a traders and craftsmen's city. A bit ignored by tourists, the city has preserved that natural atmosphere that makes it extremely attractive. Among the major tourist objectives, we can list:

  • The Orthodox Church (1270-1280), in premature gothic style, the oldest monument in the city
  • The Evangelic Church (14th - 15th century)
  • Orfevru House
  • Sugalete, a group of 16th century buildings, located on the Northern side of the Central Square with bolted galleries
  • The ruins of the 16th century fortress, with the Coopers' Tower.
