Monasteries in Neamt County

Located close to Bukovina and being partly overshaded by the painted monasteries there, the religious settlements around Targu Neamt are impressive through their differences that emphasize them from other such sites. Located in some wooden hills and generally preserving interesting Moldavian architectural elements, these monasteries have been generally built out of the inhabited areas, in places where the hermits found the solitude needed for their prayers and meditation. Especially as the area around them is of a particular beauty, with Bicaz Gorges and the Fortress of Neamt, the Neamt monasteries are definitely recommendable.
