Bucegi Mountains (Nature Tour , Wallachia)

The highest and most spectacular mountain near Bucharest, the Bucegi (2507 m.a.s.l. on Omu Peak) provide a best and extremely accessible hiking area within a 2 hours drive or train ride from the city.

The tour can be done in a few days, depending on the options taken, while optional tours can involve the monastery located in Ialomita Cave or going down to Bran Castle near Brasov. For those interested in pastoral life, a tour of Bucegi can continue with a tour to Leaota Mountains, rarely (if ever) visited by tourists and which therefore preserve a quite important number of sheepfolds and an interesting wildlife.
